ProgrammingRoyalCon offers four types of activities: events, which are organised by participants; workshops and panels about the world of gaming; sponsored tournaments; and game demonstrations.
You have until september 12 at 6h00 PM to sign-up for games. If you don't, you will be able to do it on site. There are eight defined play slots:
The four buttons above list all the activities available so far for the four different types. Each event has its own page and you may sign up for it online if you have registered for the convention (except for the Special Events, which have a special section where you can sign up). You must sign up and pay for a sponsored tournament when you first register for the convention; if you decide to sign up for a tournament after registering, you must send in an e-mail request to Programming and include the e-mail address with which you registered for the convention. Panels and demonstrations cannot be signed up for online - simply show up when they begin.
For security reasons, any cancellation of an event signup must be sent by email
to our Head
of Programming. So please be sure of your choices before you sign up.
Message to all interested Game Masters and referees As always, RoyalCon's success is thanks to the hard work of the good people who come and run games. We hope those of you who participated last year will come back with another adventure. For those of you who didn't run something last year, now is your chance! GM Submissions haven't started yet, but when they do, please go to our Submissions page and sign up. SPECIAL GUESTS Our guests of honnor this years are Maurice Lefebvre, Manuel Roy, Julien Charest and Matthias Cottreau, the four founders of Studio Mammouth, one of the only game company in Quebec that produces games in both French and English. They will talk about their experience, their games, and the challenges they will have to face in the coming years. Some of last year's guests are also back, including:
Other suprises are possible, but won't be announced until they are confirmed. GAMERS GARAGE SALE Got an old game in your closet gathering dust? Looking for an out-of-print supplement for your favorite game? Drop by the Gamers Garage Sale! We'll take your old game and display it at whatever price you want to ask. If it sells, we'll keep 10% of the sale price and give you the rest at the end of the convention. If it doesn't sell, we won't charge anything. Last year's Gamers Garage Sale was a big success. Closet space was cleared, money was made and some real treasures were found. Don't miss out this year! Every item or lot of items you bring in must be accompanied by a signed copy of our Garage Sale Agreement Form. We are not responsible for any theft, or any damage caused to your items. To prevent damage while on display, we suggest you bring them, if possible, in transparent plastic wraps (comic book bags are good for this). You may bring your games at any time, but we suggest you do it as early as possible so that they get as much exposure as possible. We hope to present as many game systems and genres as possible, so that attendees can play their favorite games and try out some new ones. If you've only ever played one system, we encourage you to try something new at RoyalCon. GMs will provide all necessary materials. Players may want to bring their own dice and books for convenience, and characters for RPGA games. Here are some of the game systems and campaign settings that were on offer last year:
Board and Card Games We hope to offer a wider selection of board games at RoyalCon this year. We strongly encourage any individual who wants to run their own game to please do so. The referee is expected to provide all the necessary materials. Otherwise, sign up as you would to run any other game, at our Submissions Page. Tabletop Strategy Games, Collectibles and Miniatures Like last year's exciting D&D, Warmachine, Warhammer (40k and Fantasy), Star Wars and Heavy Gear tournaments and demos, we have many exciting miniatures games to offer in 2007. Furthermore, we are working to bring a wider range of historical simulation wargaming to our tables, including a demo of the Battle of Kljascicy 1812 (Napoleonic period). If you are interested in offering other miniatures games, please contact our Head of Programmingsitemap |
immediately!
